A 9m lift suitable for disabled access and also occasion’s goods (primarily office furniture) within the fabric of an old mill brought many challenges. Within 3 levels, security access restrictions between floors and both 500kg and 1000kg capacities (DDA/goods) combined with the structural issues of an old building meant this lift was a stretch! We designed, manufactured and installed all items of this lift including the PLC control and the security access system.

The type of lift used was a mast lift, where guide rails are bottled to the shaft wall with chain over rollers lifting the cab.

Switching between DDA and goods is carried out via weight monitoring. We designed and manufactured the full PLC control system with integrated card swipe controlled access.
